At CyberGrants, with one voice, we stand with the Black community and condemn racism in all of its forms including structural and systemic mistreatment and exclusion. We can never stand by or look the other way as long as racism exists. The systems and policies of the United States have been designed to protect the status quo which have far too often excluded the Black community. This must change. It is not enough to simply work to create equity or equality but we must rather create greater opportunities to engage, involve, and accept all underrepresented communities but especially Black people in all parts of society.
Further, we do not pretend to fully understand racism and its impact however we resolve to learn and create greater empathy. The loss of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and countless others will not pass without our commitment for action to create final and lasting change. It has been more than fifty years since the Civil rights movement and change warriors shared with us a vision of shared social equality built upon the content of our character, not the color of our skin.
All lives will not matter until black lives matter.
